EDICA LTDA. is a company committed with the community’s development and it seeks to return in some way the support it has received from the Costa Rican people. Thus, in every project that we carry out, we make our Corporate Social Responsibility contribution. These are some of the recent projects that we have worked on:
Three years ago, Mr. Max Altamirano from the company Poolmaxx decided to undertake a major project in the Fernando Centeno Güell School. This cause has been so powerful and emotional that it involved many people and businesses, including EDICA LTDA.
This project consists in the construction of a swimming pool and a psychomotor skills room for educational, recreational, sports and therapeutic purposes, where activities that stimulate the students’ muscles, bone structure, motor and mental capacities can be carried out. Thus, allowing a substantial improvement in their locomotion, as well as intellectual, social and emotional development.
The project benefits more than 600 students of this school, who need to maintain good health and quality of life through intense physical therapy. Therefore, we have embarked on this great project, which aims to help children with specific needs.
For 3 years EDICA LTDA. has been responsible of the Technical Engineering Direction and logistics of this project. All the companies that have collaborated in this project –which includes EDICA LTDA. - have invested approximately US $ 500,000.
The construction consists of a specially designed therapy pool with 2 therapy Jacuzzis, a psychomotor skills room, dressing rooms, bathrooms and a lobby. The whole project has been built taking into consideration the school children’s needs, which include everything from wheelchair ramps to technical aspects of the materials used.
During the time that we have been at the forefront of this project, we have made many efforts to obtain the necessary financing to conclude it. We still require a good portion, but we are continuing with the project waiting for the collaboration of those people that are willing to participate in this great work.
